Musicals are very beautiful but every time I go and watch one I cannot stand how nasal most of these singers sound. Compared to opera singers, these performers have a microphone which they do not take enough advantage of. Additionally, the position of the singing is misunderstood. This genre is very complex, not only because it has songs but also because it has spoken language that needs to be alternated well, so that that changes from the dialogue and recitative parts of the play into singing are not abrupt. By learning properly how to breathe, these performers will feel a gigantic pressure taken off their chests, they will automatically position their voices properly withdrawing from the nasal sound, and relax their throat and larynx in way that they will sing freer and more pleasantly, but also be able to endure easily two shows a day.
